Glass hybrid belt: Anti-stick coating minimizes soiling

Kindly note that we are a certified essential service during the COVID-19 lockdown, please view our certificate for more information.

As a special solution for processing highly adhesive products, glass hybrid belts with anti-stick coating from GKD – GEBR. KUFFERATH AG address an urgent problem with nonwoven thermal bonding in single- and double-belt dryers. Their design, consisting of glass strands woven in the running direction and monofilament steel wires in the weft direction, combines efficient protection against adhesion with low weight and high transverse stability.

Thanks to complete coating of the warp strands and the connection points between the warp wires and weft wires, this belt type minimizes soiling due to product residues, even when processing “sticky” products. When using BiCo fibers, zero or only very low fiber/binder adhesions on the belts significantly improve the overall process. Fewer cleaning cycles enable longer service life and faster production speeds in many cases. In comparison with conventional rotary glass belts with PTFE coating, the innovative glass hybrid fabric belts from GKD guarantee significantly better process performance and higher product quality thanks to their high degree of transverse stability. The temperature stability of the fiberglass wires prevents belt elongations. As such, this innovative belt type optimizes demanding thermal bonding processes and further underscores GKD’s leading weaving competence.
